Why People Use a Professional Trainer
Most
trainers agree that the main reason people hire them is that they
want to look better. Yes, they want to become fit and healthier, but
people are motivated and driven to become fit because they want to
look better. As people strive to improve their looks by working out,
they will experience many benefits. They may lower their blood
pressure, increase their strength and stamina and have much more
energy. So if what drives people is their vain desire to "look good"
that's just fine because they will reap more important benefits in
the process.
People need to learn what types of exercise they need in order to
become fit, but not overdo it. For example, women may wait until the
last minute before an important event, such as a wedding or class
reunion, to lose weight and get fit. Men, too, may all of a sudden
want to get rid of their beer belly or love handles before an
important event. Well you cannot go on a crash diet or go on a crash
exercise program and expect to get in shape basically overnight.
Don't put off losing weight and getting in shape; make it a long
term goal. Weight loss and exercise should be done safely and
consistently.
Many people do tend to hire a trainer when they feel they cannot
stay with an exercise program on their own. Trainers believe that
anything is possible--within reason. A program must be put together
that includes the correct amount of cardiovascular and strength
training that will show results in a three to six month period of
time. But the person must also do his part to get enough sleep and
eat a properly balanced diet with reduced calorie intake. He or she
should also take vitamins and minerals.
The ideal weight loss program consists of slow and gradual weight
loss, such as two pounds per week. This type of program is safe and
effective for lasting weight loss.
One important activity you must do when conducting an exercise
program is to remember to warm up and cool down. Your warm up should
include light aerobic exercises that move your whole body. You could
jog in place, skip or perform jumping jacks. Then you should stretch
you entire body. If you are trying to improve one particular part of
your body, do some flexibility type exercises in that area. If you
want to focus on your lower body, jogging is a good exercise, so you
would need to stretch your calves, upper thighs and buttocks.
